Parking

Short-term and long-term airport parking is conveniently located near the arrival and departures areas. Prepaid parking is in effect.  Parking vouchers are available from a kiosk in the parking lot which accepts Interac, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Vouchers can also be purchased at the restaurant in the Airport Terminal Building.

Short term metered parking is available directly outside from the Airport Terminal Building or in the main parking lot adjacent to the Airport Terminal Building.

Parking Regulations

Vehicle operators shall park their vehicle in areas designated for vehicle parking only.

1. If parked in the main lot, a parking coupon shall be purchased from the dispenser or at the airport restaurant.
2. If parked at a meter, the meter must have time purchased and showing.

Areas marked as reserved parking or marked for a particular type of customer parking may only be used by those authorized to do so.

Areas not marked to allow parking may only be used for parking where special arrangements have been made with the airport Managing Director.

Special rules exist for taxis, shuttles, limousines and couriers - collectively known as ground transportation providers.

1. Ground transportation providers may drop off their passengers or freight at the air terminal building without permission of Kamloops Airport Ltd.
2. Ground transportation providers shall not pick up passengers or freight at the air terminal building without first obtaining a license from Kamloops Airport Ltd.
3. Commercial vehicles may be parked in the parking lot so that the operator can take advantage of airport services.
4. Prior approval of Kamloops Airport Ltd. is required where an unlicensed ground transportation provider has been specifically requested to pick up a certain party. Contact can be made during regular office hours at 376-3613 or at 214-0117 after hours, on holidays or weekends.
5. Approval for unlicensed pickups will be granted no more than twice in a calendar month.

Kamloops Airport Ltd. uses a parking violation system to control unauthorized parking. The rates for parking violations are:

1. Parking at an expired meter - $20.00
2. Parking in the main lot without a current parking coupon - $20.00
3. A declined credit card is subject to a further $20.00 admin fee.
4. Parking in a loading zone - $25.00
5. Parking in a reserved zone - $25.00
6. Unlicensed ground transportation provider - $60.00

Any vehicle issued with a parking violation is subject to towing from the airport. The towing service provided is displayed at the entrance to the parking lot.

Individual airport leaseholders are responsible for the removal of vehicles illegally parked on their property.
