Canada has developed one of the most secure air transportation systems in the world. With the guidance of Transport Canada, through the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), airports across the country are working hard to make our air transportation system even better. We’ve implemented higher security standards, new advanced screening technology and more people on the ground to improve security.
At the Kamloops Airport, passenger and community safety is our first priority. We work closely with CATSA to ensure we are meeting all security standards. We’ve installed a new Explosive Detection System (EDS) that is mandatory for pre-board screening of all checked and carry-on baggage. The technological upgrades include a new X-ray machine with more advanced software and an explosive trace machine.
